“Rinnenflitzer” ran from the pile

Summer, sun, great weather: when it’s really warm, many children use the water trough at habfurt’s marketplace for a little cooling off and enjoy the pleasant water. Now they can also try themselves out as small captains and drive the "habfurter rinnenflitzer" sailing along the canal.

A few years ago, silke brochlob-gerner, head of culture and tourism for the city of habfurt, saw small, colorful wooden boats with mini sails floating in the brookle in the center of freiburg. Now she remembered this and looked for a company that could also produce such boats for the water gutter on habfurt’s market square. At the konigsberg training workshops, which are part of the baden-wurttemberg state association for prevention and rehabilitation with the drug treatment facility in schloss eichelsdorf, she became profoundly. "We had several prototypes made until we had the final design", reported silke brochlob-gerner. "Because the small boats had to fit through the ‘tunnels’ at the passages." The colorful little ships made of varnished wood were then handcrafted by the employees in many individual steps. The color-coordinated fabric sails have given the little boats their close-up look.

"It was very important to us that high-quality materials are used for the trolley and that they are manufactured here in the region. We are glad that we have been able to win two reliable partners in the konigsberger lehrwerkstatten and ‘wolke 7’.", mayor gunther werner, who was present at the launching ceremony, said.

You can buy the "habfurter rinnenflitzer" in different colors and designs now available at the city’s tourist information office in bahnhofstrabe near floriansplatz. It cost 7.95 euros.
