On friday evening, a young man was only briefly in possession of several hundred euros in cash and cigarettes, which he had taken at gunpoint from a gas station in the bamberger berg area. In the course of an immediate manhunt, police officers managed to arrest the 20-year-old only a short time later. Shortly after 8 p.M., the masked man entered the gas station in wurzburger strabe, threatened an employee with a firearm and demanded the surrender of cash and cigarettes. With his booty, the unknown man then left the gas station in an unknown direction.

After the employee notified the police, several patrols immediately searched for the perpetrator. Only a short time later, the bamberg officers succeeded in arresting the 20-year-old man in the "kaulberg" area to track. His escape attempt and subsequent resistance were unsuccessful, the police officers arrested the suspect from the habberge district beforehand. One officer was slightly injured. In addition, the police were able to seize objects that clearly linked the young man to the robbery.

On saturday afternoon, at the request of the bamberg public prosecutor’s office, a warrant was issued for the arrest of the 20-year-old defendant on charges of aggravated robbery and extortion. Officers then took him to a correctional facility.
